Our story
On the Heumarkt since 1625.
- 1625-26First built
“Der Riesen” (The Giant) is built as a hotel on Hanau's Heumarkt — one of the first formal inns in town.
- 1912The Repp family takes over
Hans and Elisabeth Repp acquire the hotel, beginning the family-run era that continues to this day.
- 19 · 03 · 1945Destroyed in the last air raid
The house is completely destroyed in the final Allied bombing raid on Hanau.
- 1961-62Rebuilt
The Repp family's son rebuilds the house in its current form — same address, same family.
